This time last year, I ran a feature on the best golf drivers out there, which is still worth checking out. But in the last twelve months, there have been some fantastic new options breaking into the market.
And if you’re anything like me, you’re always on the lookout for something better, sleeker, and higher performing than your last club. Golf drivers are like the sports car of your bag: they’re always getting better, and they look fantastic.
So let’s take a look at some of the best golf drivers you can get these days, and see how they stack up alongside each other.

What you need to know:
Known for its “compression channel” technology that increases ball speeds across the face of the driver, the Nike Vapor Pro is a little trickier to handle than some of the other drivers on this list – but if you master it, you’ll reap massive rewards. Get a good swing with this beast and the ball will really fly.
You know with Nike it’s going to look the part, but the good news? They haven’t gone for style over substance: this driver ticks the boxes you want.

What you need to know:
Looking for a forgiving driver that really lets it fly? This could be for you. Hit the ball pretty much anywhere on the face, and this beauty will send it soaring to the fairway.
It looks a lot meaner than the Nike Vapor Pro, and there’s no messing around: this driver has one job in mind, and it’s here to do it. It’s satisfying to use, too: connect with the ball and you’ll notice the lovely ping on impact. Top stuff.

What you need to know:
Staying true to its name, this driver is one of the lightest you can buy – lending itself to a wonderful swing. You’ll really notice the lift with this one, so if you often struggle to get air under your shot, it’s probably worth a look.
One of my favourite things about it is that even though it’s really lightweight, you still get a solid shot out of it: it doesn’t feel flimsy at all while you’re using it. It’s very forgiving, too – one of the clubs I liked the best in 2015.

What you need to know:
With this Bridgestone driver, you get two adjustable weights to help you control spin, but it’s no way near as forgiving as the AeroBurner, so keep that in mind when you’re trying it out. Still, if you’re on your game and control it well, you can get some real distance out of it.
You get a real sense of the impact when you hit it, so you’ll know immediately if you shot true of if you missed the sweet spot. Overall, it looks great, but perhaps one for better golfers than me!

What you need to know:
I’ve written about this club before, and it’s still one of my favourites. It gives you fantastic control, and looks and feels brilliant. One of the more futuristic feeling drivers of the year, you can tune it to how you want to play.
The most satisfying thing about it is its distance. You really can launch it, and be prepared to zoom past your competition. Despite its name, it still manages to feel lightweight, and has a satisfying thump on impact.
